A paved path way system connects Ruth Rowell Modie Wildlife Park to the Veterans Grove Arboretum providing pedestrian access to areas of the park complex. A majority of the path is wheel chair accessible. The Regence BlueShield Fitness Path provides entry to the park in the 2200 block of 13th Street; in the 1000 block of 21st Avenue; from the access road surrounding the Idaho State Veterans’ Home; from the sidewalk on the east side of 8th Street in the 1900 block, and at the historic stone tower at the intersection of 10th Street and Gateway Drive. Construction of the pathway was done in stages over several years. Asphalt milled from Thain Road in two separate summer paving projects was re-cycled as a base for the path. A major grant from Regence BlueShield of Idaho helped pave pathway in 2001. Top of Page
